Invention Convention
Misty Boscarello, Grindstone Elementary - $400
Students will read the book Toys! Amazing Stories Behind Some Great Inventions (Grade 4) and Mistakes that Worked and, afterwards, design a project of their choice. After designing, students will display their project to a panel of teachers, community members, and others to share their learning.
We Gather Together
John Chapman, Brook Park Elementary School - $1,000
We Gather Together refers to the implementation of a gathering drum in music classes at Brook Park Elementary School. A gathering drum allows students to create music collaboratively.
Astronomy Club
David Kushlak, Berea-Midpark Middle School - $345
The Astronomy club will be meeting monthly to learn about the seasonal night sky and other objects to look for and where to find them (galaxies, comets, etc...) The flashlights and books, provided by the grant, will be what we used in the planetarium so the students can learn to identify the constellations on their own.
