​VACANCY POSTING:

The Education Foundation Executive Director: The Education Foundation Board of Trustees would like to announce the vacancy for the position of Executive Director. 
 
Employment Begins: May 24, 2021

Reports to: Chair of the Foundation 
 
Description:
The Executive Director manages daily operations of The Education Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports educational enrichment in Berea City School District. 
 
Schedule: Part time; average of 15 hours per week/12 months. Schedule is flexible.  
 
Compensation:
$20,000.00 yearly salary 
 
Location: Berea City School District Administration Building, 390 Fair St. Berea, OH 44017 (Private office with door.)
 
QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS:     
  • Maintains Foundation database  
  • Designs and manages website and social media accounts 
  • Manages correspondence, phone calls, and emails
  • Writes and designs all print and email communications, including bi-annual newsletter, campaign solicitations, event materials and press releases
  • Staffs office on a part-time basis with office hours
  • Facilitates Board of Trustees operations and meetings
  • Represents the Foundation to various district and community groups
  • Identifies potential donors and solicits prospects for gifts
  • Facilitates and promotes fundraisers such as the Annual Auction, Big Give, Annual Fund, and Friends of the Foundation program
  • Coordinates all aspects of yearly Payroll Deduction Grants and Enrichment Grants 
  • Works with Scholarship Chair and BMHS Guidance Staff to manage scholarship application, selections, and awards
  • Promotes collaboration between the Berea City School District and The Foundation

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES and ACCOUNTABILITIES:  
  • College degree in an applicable discipline  
  • ​Expertise in using Microsoft Office and Google Workspace 
  • Ability to maintain nonprofit database (Bloomerang) 
  • Ability to manage website (Weebly) and social media accounts
  • Comfortable learning to use new software and technologies
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills  
  • A high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external interactions  
  • Ability to motivate and lead a team of volunteers and work as a team member  
  • Ability to create and maintain good working relationships with BCSD staff, volunteers, Foundation Board members, and others  
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions with little direction 
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills  
  • Performs other responsibilities as assigned by The Foundation’s Board of Trustees
